November Cool Nights and Winter Camping on the North Shore!
At North Shore Camping Co., you can experience the beauty of winter wilderness without having to plan, pack and prepare for a fully self-supported winter camping trip. We provide the tent, wood-burning stove, fire pit, winter bedding and essential camping equipment. We’ll even help transport your gear to and from your site.
You get the experience of sleeping outside in winter—with a warm shelter, nearby support and a little less of the work and uncertainty that come with going it alone.
Spend your day exploring frozen trails, snowy forests and the wild winter shoreline of Lake Superior. Then return to your tent, light the stove and settle in for a warm night in the woods.
Winter camping here still feels like winter camping. You’ll need to dress for the weather, tend the fire and add wood throughout your stay. But you won’t have to haul all your gear deep into the wilderness, build a shelter from scratch or figure everything out on your own.
Guests can take advantage of our heated saunas, and our heated Base Lodge with modern restrooms and showers, just a few minutes walk from all of our winter sites.
Cook dinner over the campfire. Watch the stars appear through the trees.
Fall asleep to the crackle of the wood stove.

Snowshoe through the woods. Explore the frozen shoreline. Chase icy waterfalls. Or do absolutely nothing beyond tending the fire and enjoying the quiet.
Winter camping at North Shore Camping Co. is a way to step into the wilderness without taking on every risk and responsibility of a traditional winter expedition. You’ll still get the cold air, snowy trails, wood smoke and star-filled nights—but with equipment, support and a comfortable base waiting for you.
When you’re ready to warm up, head back to your tent, get the wood stove crackling and make yourself cozy.

Christmas Tree Camp
November 27th–December 23rd, 2026
Base rates are priced for 1 adult. Additional $20 per adult, and $14 per child. (under 18).
Come to the North Shore for Christmas—and head home with your own tree!
In the morning, meet with one of our naturalists to learn about North Shore conifers, responsible tree harvesting and what to look for when choosing your Christmas tree.
Then it’s time to bundle up, grab your lunch and head into the woods with your harvesting gear. We’ll supply everything that you need!
Depending on availability and current harvesting guidelines, guests may choose a permitted tree from approved public forest land or select from designated areas right here on North Shore Camping Co. property.
We’ll help you understand the permit process when one is required and provide the tools you need to safely harvest your tree. Then the adventure—and the search for the perfect tree—is up to you.
